What we do

Akuafo Nketewa Company Limited is a key player in Ghana’s agribusiness value chain, dedicated to enhancing farmer databases, building capacity in agronomic best practices, reducing post-harvest losses, and promoting innovative marketing. Here’s how we support our farmers and partners:

• Provision of farm Inputs: We supply high-quality, eco-friendly farm inputs, including organic fertilizers, herbicides, quality seeds, and packaging materials, to boost productivity. Our distribution network across the Upper East, Upper West, Northern, North-East, Volta, and Oti regions ensures farmers have the tools needed to thrive.
• Produce Aggregation: AKN specializes in aggregating staple crops such as maize, soybeans, sorghum, cashew nuts, and rice. We prioritize quality and ensure our products meet international standards for moisture, aflatoxin levels, and purity. Through extensive training and support, we empower farmers and aggregators in post-harvest handling.
• Mechanization Service: We provide accessible mechanization services, including land preparation and harvesting, while connecting lead farmers to affordable machinery. This support boosts productivity and yields for smallholder farmers.
• Poultry Production and Guaranteed Egg Market: To support the poultry sector, AKN supplies farmers with maize and soybeans consistently and guarantees a market for eggs by distributing directly to consumers in Accra, Burkina Faso, and Togo, contributing to community nutrition.
• Capacity Building: At AKN, we prioritize modernization through farmer education and training in areas such as agronomic practices, post-harvest management, quality control, and financial management. With a focus on sustainability, we also offer training in organic farming, agroecology, and biodiversity.

Brief History

Akuafo Nketewa (AKN)was established in 2016 as a limited liability agribusiness firm dedicated to delivering innovative agribusiness solutions within Ghana’s agricultural value chain, with a special focus on supporting smallholder farmers across Ghana. Our primary mission is to transform Ghana’s subsistence farming culture into a profitable, sustainable industry that drives wealth creation. To achieve this, AKN empowers farmers with modern, efficient food production techniques, access to quality farm inputs, and mechanization services. We further support value addition and food processing, with a strong emphasis on empowering women and youth in agriculture. Our journey began with staple crops such as sorghum, maize, soybeans, rice, and cashew nuts. Since then, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner to farmers and agro-based industries. We initially operated in six key regions—Upper East, Upper West, North East, Northern, Volta, and Oti were strategically chosen due to the rich natural and human resource endowment in these areas for improved agricultural productivity.

Since inception, AKN has been dedicated to enhancing the livelihoods of peasant farmers by providing farm inputs, produce aggregation services, mechanization, poultry production support, guaranteed markets for eggs, and training in best agronomic practices. Over the years, AKN has continuously evolved, always committed to supporting farmers and contributing to agricultural development and global food security.
